Determination of Oil Content in Petroleum Wax -

Low-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Method

Kickoff Meeting was Held Successfully>>>

On October 15, 2026, the kick-off meeting for the petrochemical industry standard Determination of Oil Content in Petroleum Waxes—Low-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Method was successfully held at Jiangsu Taier Novel Material Co., Ltd. Organized by the Subcommittee on Petroleum Wax Products of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Petroleum Products and Lubricants and hosted by Jiangsu Taier Novel Material Co., Ltd., the meeting brought together representatives from numerous drafting organizations across the national petroleum and petrochemical industries to jointly discuss the work plan and timeline for developing the standard.

At 9:30 a.m. on October 15, the kickoff meeting officially began in the conference room on Taier fourth floor. Organized by the standard drafting group, a representative from Jiangsu Tair first presented an overview of the standard, including the background of its initiation, technical approach, scope of application, and progress to date. Subsequently, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key tasks related to the standard's development. They thoroughly exchanged views on topics such as methodological principles, instrument specifications, sample preparation, precision requirements, and validation test plans, and established a timeline and division of responsibilities for each phase of the standard-setting process.

This kickoff meeting brought together expert representatives from

numerous well-known organizations within the industry, including:

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) Jingmen Branch;

Sinopec (Dalian) Petrochemical Research Institute Co., Ltd.;

China National Petroleum Corporation Fushun Petrochemical Branch;

CNOOC (Taizhou) Petrochemical Co., Ltd.;

Suzhou Nuomei Analytical Instrument Co., Ltd.;

Jiangsu Taier Novel Material Co., Ltd.

Representatives from each drafting organization drew on their practical experience in petroleum wax production, testing, and instrument R&D to offer suggestions for refining the draft standard, creating a lively atmosphere at the event.

As the host of this conference and one of the primary drafters of the standard, Jiangsu Taier Novel Material Co., Ltd. has long been deeply involved in the petroleum wax sector and has accumulated extensive experience in the research, development, production, and testing of wax products. The company will use this standard launch meeting as an opportunity to steadily advance all aspects of the standard-drafting process, work closely with industry peers, ensure the high-quality completion of the standard-drafting task, and contribute Taier strength to the standardization efforts of the petroleum wax industry.

Developing a standard is not something that can be accomplished overnight. Moving forward, the standard drafting group will proceed in an orderly manner with various tasks—including experimental validation, data compilation, solicitation of comments, and submission for review—in accordance with the timeline established at the meeting. We are confident that, through the joint efforts of all drafting organizations, the industry standard Determination of Oil Content in Petroleum Wax—Low-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Method will be successfully published and implemented, helping to elevate China’s petroleum wax testing technology to a new level.
